Trump Finally Comments Positively About E15; Pushes Congress to Solve Issue
Comments will please corn, biofuel lobbyists… and Iowa lawmakers
President Donald Trump went from being a potential goat in Iowa to his near-hero status again as he said “I am trusting Speaker Johnson and leader Thune to find a deal that works… to get E15 approved. They’re very close to getting it done.”
Those comments were enough to satisfy corn and biofuel lobbyists who have been angry and in high anxiety mode since Congress last week failed to include year-round E15 in a must-pass minibus spending measure.
And the pro-E15 comments very likely pleased some Iowa Republican lawmakers in close elections who thought some industry lobbyists threw them under the bus last week for not putting the E15 language in the minibus.
It took more than a few minutes before Trump mentioned agriculture, but then he inserted several ag sector issues later.
More, later.
